Be the village. Read the data. Fix what’s broken.
In this hands-on session, you’ll step into the shoes of a village or Ward, dig into water and waste data, and find the one breakdown your community can’t ignore. Then you’ll build a two-part plan: a scrappy citizen micro-action you can launch in 7-14 days, and a data-backed Gram Sabha petition. Finally, you’ll pitch your case to a panel of village leaders. Teens and adults work side by side as peers, and everyone leaves with a real commitment.
What you’ll walk away with
- Data literacy: Read environmental data and spot the story in the numbers.
- Critical thinking: Separate symptoms from root causes and find the core breakdown.
- Problem-solving under constraints: Design fast, low-cost solutions with limited resources.
- Persuasive communication: Turn evidence into a pitch and petition leaders can act on.
- Civic know-how: Understand how Gram Sabhas work and how citizens can use them.
- A personal action: One concrete step to take back to your own community.
